For the Record: May 2014 Glyph Sales

228k gold in glyph sales! A new record for the enterprise, selling almost double the number of glyphs than last month.

Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 228997g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 2935
  • Average Price: 78g02s
May was a huge month! I could barely keep up with restocking glyphs (by which I mean I didn't (making 1708 glyphs during the month). Herb prices have been rising, and I'm back up to happily paying 1g per herb.

Now that I've made a stupendous amount of gold selling glyphs, rather than try and top that in June, I decided on a new experiment. I've dabbled in analysing the relationship between when glyphs are posted and when they are sold, but there are some severe limitations just due to a sensible and efficient posting schedule. Posting once or twice per day, two of each profitable glyph leads to the following problems. Firstly, posting two of each glyph means I can sell out within minutes. It doesn't allow for recording the third, fourth and fifth sale before I'm undercut to oblivion. Posting for 48 hours, and reposting again inside that window doesn't allow me to see just how few glyphs are sold at the 46th hour mark.

So my experiment for June will be conducted as follows. Post eight of each glyph for 48 hours, and only reposting after they have all expired. Yes, I'll make a LOT less gold... but I will be able to produce a pretty sexy graph depicting just how quickly glyph sales drop off after posting.

For the Record: April 2014 Glyph Sales

Almost a full month being connected to another server, and glyph sales are booming! Most importantly, the number of sales is up by around 50% and I broke that magical 100k revenue mark.

Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 105088g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 1518
  • Average Price: 69g23s
Connected realms hasn't been without hiccups. Our server lost the use of the mobile app and we all disappeared from the Armory. Our heroic lockout got deleted part way through the week along with the option to extend, so our progression got nuked in the process.

However, sales feel like they have been very good and I've really enjoyed the process of shunting items to our other half for storage and posting. I've managed to hack TSM2 so that it recognises our connection, but right now I'm still having a little bit of a problem with crafting.

In other news, Twitchie got his legendary cape, and then proceeded to do no raiding whatsoever.

For the first time I've embedded the graph directly in the post! I will need to post my pie chart describing the transitional breakdown of glyph sales by seller as a separate post while I figure out how to jam different graphs on a single page.

For the Record: March 2014 Glyph Sales

March was my last month before my realm was connected, and I still fell just short of the 100k glyph revenue. You know why? I was busy being an awesome warlock.

Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 97595g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 1012
  • Average Price: 96g44s
Would you look at that average price? It is fantastic so see such a great return, even if my glyph posting schedule fell off towards the end of the month.

In random recollections from last month, Twitchie scored the 'Proven Assailant' title. Thanks to Soco and Jim for pointing me in the right direction when through a series of action bar mishaps, I disenchanted a trinket right before a proving grounds attempt. The item restoration service is wonderful, and my handy darkmoon faire trinket was a great backup.

I also found some great glyph source information in Stede's post Full Set of TSM Group Import Strings for All Glyphs. 444 Glyphs. I'll be using that information to update my database, since Stede has made sure that the glyph source information is definitive (which is tricky for glyphs that can be learned from multiple sources).

I finally finished off my mage on an alternative server (and Doh! not the one that's being connected). There were a few factors that contributed to my darling frost mage finally reaching end game.
  • She's on another server, to prevent my characters being infected by... Mage.
  • I have not one, but two level 90 warlocks, one for alliance and one for horde. She's out numbered.
  • Twitchie is now a proven assailant, which will keep her in line if she ever gets any ideas about her place in my alts scheme.
Faid got up super early to join in on my guild's Garrosh kill. It was great fun to take advantage of cross realm normal mode raiding so soon after it was implemented, and take down Garrosh with a fellow gold maker and blogger.

Twitchie has been working through challenge modes with my guildies ever since I finished the transmog set on my main. Playing my warlock again has been so much fun that I've even returned to that dreaded legendary quest line. I promised myself I would give it up after my main and shadow priest were outfitted. I caved. Hopefully my cursing about PvP gave some folks on twitter a laugh, and I'm actually enjoying some LFR again.

Connected realms is here, and I've been organising a fleet of gnome warlock alts to free up my inventory space and increase my posting efficiency.

For the Record: December 2013 Glyph Sales

Merry Christmas to me! While I was very inactive throughout the early part of December, some of my competition went on holidays and I made a killing late in the month.

Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 76464g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 1273
  • Average Price: 60g07s

As you may have been following (if I've backfilled my posts) my server has had a 50g glyph wall for quite a while. it didn't take long in the abscence of that competitor for prices to jump back to my fallback.

To celebrate the spike in sales, I've created a couple of pages to detail the full glyphs sales from 28th and 29th December 2013. It is just so much fun to browse and see how many glyphs were sold at my fallback of 230g. An average price on the 28th of 172g followed by 152g on the 29th, selling almost 9k of glyphs per day boosted my otherwise slack income more than 20k over the previous month while selling less glyphs.

For the Record: November 2013 Glyph Sales

Glyph sales volume continues to roll in, with the 50g glyph wall just cramping my style a little.

Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 56801g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 1325
  • Average Price: 42g87s

Seige of Orgrimmar rolls on, and I've still been very slack picking up the new glyph patterns. Being Overlord of Twitchie Enterprises has its perks. I have many alts to do my bidding, run a vast enterprise, and rake in the gold. Plus, I'm a warlock, and that in and of itself is pretty freakin' awesome. Green fire and all that jazz. However, I too am an alt... and when a patch hits, I am too often relegated to 'gold mint'. I mean, if we're going to be perfectly honest, how does a shadow priest and brewmaster monk get levelled ahead of me?!?! Legendary cloak? No. Get in line, and get back to the auction house.

However, I have managed to sneak out to the Timeless Isle, farmed some turtles in Valley of the Four Winds and even done and LFR wing or two. So I have most of the patterns, but I'm scared to look at how many I still have left to collect. In any case, Garrosh is dead... and heroic modes are starting, so I'd better get back to milling those bazillions of herbs so I can keep that protection warrior in the lifestyle that he's become acostomedto.

For the Record: May 2013 Glyph Sales

I sold even less glyphs in May, but for a whole bunch of extra coin. Look at that average price, up to almost 100g per glyph.

May Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 63,586g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 680
  • Average Price: 93g50s
I'm still tracking my glyph posting, which is now up over 3 months worth. At some point I'll sit my ass down and put out some data... once I upload the new TSM Accounting data from TSM 2. Yes, I've been playing with TSM 2, having a ball... look out for a post on Groups and Operations soon(tm).

For the Record: February 2013 Glyph Sales

I really missed the boat on weekend sales mid way through February, but otherwise it was another good month.

February Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 53570g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 820
  • Average Price: 65g33s

For the Record: January 2013 Glyph Sales

Surprise, surprise, this graph looks really familiar.

January  Stats:
  • Total Glyph Sales: 59670g
  • Total Glyphs Sold: 885
  • Average Price: 67g42s
So I usually sell between 800 and 900 glyphs per month, with 50k+ in sales depending on the average price, which can vary a little. When there's a major event, like an expansion with a glyph overhaul... the graph can get a little exciting. Otherwise, I've been using the monthly post to chat about other things. Well no longer!

I like my graphs, and I have a sentimental attachment to my monthly glyph graph ever since my first export of mysales data. So I'm going to start adding the title and label, 'For the Record' to these posts and keep them short and sweet, so I can spend a little more time on other topics. If you're interested in pretty graphs, or my gold making milestones, drop in and check them out, otherwise you can skip to other topics of discussion.
